OBITUARY Richard Earl “Dick” Fournier December 6, 1939 – December 4, 2018 Richard Earl (Dick) Fournier, 78, passed away Tuesday, December 04, 2018, at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, followed by interment with Military Honors in Guilford Memorial Park. Dick has been a resident of Greensboro since 1967. He was born to the late Nelson C. and Iris L. Fournier, Dec. 6, 1939, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from St. Petersburg Senior High School in 1958. He attended St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of Florida. He received as Associate in Science degree from the University of the State of New York. He served in the US Naval Reserve aboard the USS Amberjack SS-522. His early working career was a contract electromechanical designer for various companies. He retired from Gilbarco with 28 years of Service. He was a man of many interests and talents ranging from magic and gardening to mineral collecting and lapidary skills. He was an outstanding cook and baker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fournier was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Jean Fournier; stepmother, Jane Fournier and nephew, Robert D. Fournier. He is survived by his brother and wife, Robert N. and Fran Fournier; five children, Terry W. Fournier, Debbie Goodman, Bonnie McLaurin, Pamela Cannon, and Michael Jenkins; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
