Born August 19, 1944, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, the daughter of tus Case DeVoy and Emma Ida (Augusta) Wenzel – DeVoy. Married George Alfred Hursh on June 8, 1963, in Sharon, Wisconsin. Employed as a school bus driver by the Harlem School District. Member of National Camping Travelers. Nancy loved camping from tents all the way to a fifth wheel. Member of the Roscoe Eastern Star since 1983 where she served as an advisor. Active with the Masonic Youth Groups, including Demolay and Job’s Daughters. Nancy was the first sweetheart advisor for 5 years for the Rockford Chapter and advisor for 7 years for Job’s Daughters. She loved playing cards, bingo, fishing up north and bowling. Nancy served as past secretary for the Sunday bowling league at Park Lanes. Volunteered for One Body (Love Inc.) for several years. Survivors include her children, Tammy Taylor, Tina Hursh and Kathy (Tim) Schmit; 14 grandchildren, Tina (Tim) Jones, Jamie Taylor, Brandi Taylor, Robert (Katrina) Taylor, Jay Taylor, Thomas (Madaline) Taylor, Bradley Taylor, David (Jessica) Hursh, Jennifer Schmit, Joshua (Olivia) Schmit, Justyna Schmit, Jaysen Schmit, Joseph Schmit and Jacob Schmit; 7 great-grandchildren, David Prince Jr., Lilah Prince, Leo Fluiatt, Bentley Fluiatt, Ayden Fluiatt, Kyo Hursh on the way and 1 more on the way; 19 great-step-grandchildren; 1 great-great-step-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Shirley DeVoy, Vivian Collins and Mary Melms; brother-in-law, Ralph (Bev) Hursh; numerous nieces and nephews; special extended family, Michael DeVoy, Todd DeVoy and Thelma Brown; and special grandchildren, Christina (Nate) Yater and Pamela (Brody) Elvin; special great-grandchildren, Isaiah Whelchel, Bobby Whelchel, Aryah Yater and Bentley Yater. Predeceased by her husband; parents; brothers, Leroy DeVoy and Richard DeVoy; brother-in-law, Bud Melms; and sons-in-law, Jim Taylor and Brian Houpt. Service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Flora Cemetery, Kirkland. Visitation also from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, in the funeral home, with Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
