Matthew Mark Vance, Sr. 57, of Ashland, passed away Friday evening, November 30, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center. Matthew was born May 12, 1961 in Ashland, Kentucky to Lucille Combs Vance of Greenup, KY and the late Randolph Vance. He was self-employed in the construction industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for a brief time and attended Straight Creek Nazarene Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Conley Vance of Ashland; his mother, Lucille Combs Vance of Greenup; one son, Matthew Mark Vance, Jr. of Ashland; two daughters, Anita Gayle Vance Whitlock of Ashland, and Donna Michele Vance of Colorado; six brothers, Randolph Vance, Jr. of Flatwoods, Dwight Dale Vance of Richmond, Va, Patrick Vance of Russell, KY, Gregory Vance of Springfield, MO, Cornell Vance of Somerset, KY, Steven Vance of Ashland, KY; three sisters, Anita Large of Greenup, KY, Alisa Hutchinson of Flatwoods, KY and Angela Vance of Ashland, KY; four grandchildren, Dorian Whitlock, Lenore Whitlock, Addison Hamilton and Raegan Hamilton. There will be no services at this time. A military service will be scheduled at a later date.
