Mary was born January 4, 1952 in Norway, ME. She is predeceased by her parents Clifford and Helen (Mehan) Hillier and sister Joan. She lived in Bethel, ME later moving with her family to Plymouth, NH. Mary is survived by Kay, her wife and best friend for the last 29 years as well as two sisters – Harriet Martino of Branford, CT; Jean Hillier of Tucson, AZ; her aunt, Mary Small of Bangor, ME; cousin Karen Small of South Portland, ME; as well as four nephews. Her career was spent with the State of New Hampshire – mostly for Employment Security and later in IT for the Department of Labor. She was an active member of SEIU Local 1964. The printed word called to Mary, she loved to read – especially mysteries. And fondly speaking, if you knew her, you also knew that could be really annoying when you were trying to talk to her. She also loved traveling these last few years in their Road Trek camping van. It may have been their ‘Most Marvelous’ adventure in 2015 or just a few days anywhere in her beloved state of Maine, especially one of her favorite places – Acadia National Park. Running local road-races was also a great passion of hers. If you asked those that knew her to describe her in a single word – the word of choice most often was ‘kind.’ Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 P.M.
