Mary Etheredge Maroney 2018

Mary’s Obituary AIKEN, SC – Mary Olive Etheregde Maroney, aged 96, was received into the loving arms of God on December 20, 2018. She is survived by her children, Preston Maroney, Aiken, Gil Maroney (Candy), Gladewater, TX, and Hope Perkins, Douglas, GA, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. As the baby and last surviving child of the 10 children of Joseph Clifton and Bessie Weeks Etheredge and the loving wife of the late John Preston Maroney, Sr, she will have the joy of a huge reunion in heaven. She was a devoted member of Memorial Baptist Church, Aiken’s Pilot Club, The Order of the Eastern Star, Woodmen of the World and worked with the American Red Cross. She loved gardening, fishing, the Braves and “getting her way”. She was a “hoot” and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was rarely without a dog by her side and stray cats were always at her door. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare (www.letlovelive.org). Visitation will be Wednesday evening, December 26th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home, 715 E Pine Log Rd, Aiken SC 29803. Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday morning, December 27th at 11 o’clock at Memorial Baptist Church, followed by interment at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Kitchings Mill, SC. Where her full and long life all began. SHELLHOUSE – RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, 715 EAST PINE LOG RD., AIKEN, SC Read More
