Martha Frances Banks, 69, of Stanford, KY passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at home. Born June 12, 1949 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Homer and Mary Tincher Smith, she was a retired employee of American Greetings Inc. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, and in her spare time she loved going to yard sales. Survivors include two sons, Raymond F. Banks, Jr. and Michael Elliott; one brother, Gary Bush (Janice); two sisters, Mary Belle Lasure (Manles), and Velma Cordier all of Stanford, KY; two grandchildren, Jaelindsey Gentry and Chelsea Banks; five great-grandchildren, Blakley, Bristol, Adley, London, and Havana; three nephews, Jody Lasure, Jeff Lasure, and Jeremy Smith; and one niece, Bethany Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Smith, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5-8pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, December 21, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Morris Trayner officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: Paul Playforth, Dexter Wall, John Whited, Mike Gibson, Nick Gentry, and Billy Price. Honorary bearers are: Sherry Bryant and Hope Bishop. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 21903, Lexington, KY 40522).
