Obituary of Marilyn Fitzpatrick Rotterdam – Marilyn E. Fitzpatrick, 87, formerly of Outer Drive, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Our Lady of Consolation in West Islip, NY. Marilyn was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Gleason and Carolyn Layden. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. She had been a Dental Receptionist for Dr. Nathan Paul, DDS and later for Dr. Michael Comis, DDS, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed her membership at the YWCA, she was active with the Rotterdam Seniors and the Woestina Young at Heart and was a volunteer at St. Clare’s Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie’s Church. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas M. Fitzpatrick, Jr.; they married in 1954, he died in 1999. Marilyn was also predeceased by their son Timothy and daughter Maura Filipello. She is survived by four children; Thomas (Janice) Fitzpatrick, III of Schenectady, Wendy (Greg) Michael of Charlton MA, Christopher Fitzpatrick of Schenectady, Audra (James) Lee of Massapequa and son-in-law Richard Filipello; nine grandchildren: Bryson, Amy, Thomas IV, Brenna, Kelsey, Richelle, Madeline, Marissa and Ryan and two great-grandchildren: Jaxson and Emma. Funeral service Saturday morning 9:15 from Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, NY and 10:00 at St. Madeline-Sophie Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Friday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Madeleine-Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303.
