Margaret Kenyon Cates 1958 2018

Obituary of Margaret Cates Margaret “Meg” Kenyon Cates, age 60, of Painted Post, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1958 in Corning, the daughter of Charles Kenyon and Ella Kenyon Whitten. She married Mark R. Cates in 1982. Meg was a very loving and caring person and she cherished the time she spent with her family. She was known for her selfless generousity always putting others before herself. Meg was an avid conversaltionlist enjoying her outgoing personality. She was a kind soul and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Mark, sons, Justin R. Cates and Jamie K. Cates, mother, Ella Kenyon Whitten, brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. and Peggy Kenyon, and her mother-in-law, Joan G. Cates. Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A celebration of Meg’s life will follow there at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by going to www.jdrf.org
