Lewis Edward Jones 1941 2018

Obituary for Lewis Edward Jones Lewis Edward Jones, 77 of Morgantown, passed away November 6, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Cunard, WV to the late Lewis Forrest Jones and Polly Anna Campbell Jones. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ellen Joan Waddell Jones, daughter, Valorie Jones Richardson and husband Steven, their two sons Matthew and Derek of Morgantown, son, Aaron Jones and his wife Robin of Morgantown, sister, Anna Faye Jones Weeks of Canton, GA, brother, Renick Jackson Jones of Lochgelly and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Barbara Jones Parsons and Patricia Jones McKinney. Mr. Jones was a US Army veteran, where he served as a Military Policeman during the post Korean war era. He is a retired supervisor for C&P/Verizon where he worked in the southern part of WV for 30 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a true gentleman, who loved to spend time with his family. His greatest joy was the times he got to spend with his two beloved grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at High Lawn Memorial Park, 1435 East Main St., Oak Hill, on Saturday, November 17, at 1:00pm. A memorial service in celebration of Lewis’ life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 519 Burroughs St., Morgantown, on Sunday November 18at 2:30pm. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Amedysis Hospice for all their care and comfort provided to Lewis in his last days.
