Obituary of Lena Yaddow Brasher Falls – Lena M. Yaddow, 94, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the St. Regis Nursing Home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop where visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 to 7pm. A Service Celebrating her Life will follow at 7pm. Burial will be held in the spring in Carville Cemetery in Helena. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her memory to Tri Town Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 238, Brasher Falls, NY 13613. Lena was born on September 22, 1924 in Potsdam, daughter of the late Leslie Joseph and Blanch May (Stark) Sova. She attended the Maple Ridge Rural School. A marriage to Kenneth Yaddow ended in divorce. She worked at the Mica Plant, Violi’s Restaurant St. Lawrence Central School and Highland Nursing Home, in the kitchen and cafeteria. She loved spending time with family fishing and camping. At her leisure, she would crochet and quilt. Being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother was one of the greatest joys in her life. She is survived by three children; Ronald and Beverly Yaddow of Clayville, Blanche French of Constable, and Ruth and Daniel Bissonette of Brasher Falls, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Yaddow of Frankfort, one brother, Carl and Kris Sova of Parishville, a sister-in-law, Margaret Sova of Brasher Falls, 15 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, 18 Great Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Lena was predeceased by two children, Kenneth Yaddow and Betty Frary, three brothers, Joseph Sova, Robert Sova and Albert Sova, one sister, Ruth Newtown, and one grandchild, Deanna.
