Obituary for Kathy A. Ostrom KATHY OSTROM Kathy A. Ostrom, 61, a Norwich native, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a battle with cancer. Born on June 18, 1957, Kathy was the daughter of Theodore and Alice (Martin) Ostrom and was one of their five children. After graduating from Norwich High School in 1975, Kathy pursued and an associate’s degree from SUNY Morrisville. Thereafter, she worked in various businesses in and around Norwich, and completed her time working in Norwich as a clerk at Opportunities for Chenango. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family. She often told stories for everyone to enjoy. She loved art and enjoyed drawing, painting, and knitting. Kathy baked cookies and always made a lovely Christmas tray filled with a variety of cookies each year. Kathy is survived by her mother, Alice Ostrom, of Norwich; daughters Jill Kraft, and her significant other, Jeremy Marango, of Norwich, and Emily Snyder and her husband, Stephen, of Ithaca; grandchildren Abbie Lamb, Dante and Philip Kraft, and Zachary and Meghan Snyder; siblings Mike Ostrom, of St. Augustine, FL, William Ostrom, Mark Ostrom, and Vashti Young, each of Norwich, and their families, boyfriend Lynn Pomeroy, and several cousins and other extended family members. A private memorial service will take place at the Wilson Funeral Home at the convenience of the family, where Rev. Joseph Connolly will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Kathy may be made to Chenango County Mental Health or Catholic Charities of Chenango County.
