Obituary for Josika Gojka Josika Gojka, 78, husband of Ana Gojka of Newburgh, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center. Born February 25, 1940, in Yugoslavia, he was the son of the late Josika and Persida Gojka. Josika together with his wife Ana raised three children. Josika was a self-made man of many talents who engaged with the world as a man who would be its master. Josika was a man faithful to his family and friends, a man strong in body, in spirit, and in commitment. Most of all, Josika was a generous and loving patriarch of his family whose dedication to his beloved wife of 50 years is a paradigm to which all can aspire. He was adored and respected by all and leaves a giant hole in our hearts. Josika is survived by his wife Ana; daughters Elizabeth and her husband Sean Nolan, Elena and her husband Kevin Turner; son Joseph and his wife Mego; 3 grandsons, Zachary, Shane and Joseph; and 5 granddaughters, Samantha, Sarah, McKenzie, Sienna and Harper. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org). Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27 from 6-9 pm at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry, NY.
