OBITUARY John H. “Jack” Dengler March 18, 1927 – December 23, 2018 Entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2018, at the age of 91. Jack was the youngest of 5 children of the late Henry and Eva Dengler. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Greg and Donald, and two sisters, Eleanor and Eileen. He is survived by his nieces, Eileen Lowe (Florida), Linda Flood (Maryland), Mary Culhane (Florida), and Kathleen Mancino (Arizona), as well as numerous great-nieces. Jack was a retired teacher and guidance counselor with the Rochester City School District. He was very devout in his Catholic faith. This devotion carried through in his service with the Knights of Columbus, where he obtained the rank of 4th Degree Knight and also Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #178. He also held numerous state offices within the Knights of Columbus organization. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4-7PM at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at St. Anne Church, 1600 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester, NY 14620. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
