OBITUARY Mr. John Dewey Wells April 6, 1948 – December 2, 2018 John D. Wells, 70, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at his residence. Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at New Prospect Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., at New Prospect Baptist Church, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Samaria Cemetery. Rev. Scott Stewart will officiate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel S. Wells and Annie Lou Sherer Wells; siblings, Charles Wells, Dorothy Wells Redmill, Donald Wells, and Lawrence Wells. He is survived by his wife, Joni Wells; Children, Anna Wells and her fiancé Riley Shelnutt, Joseph Lowe, Chris Lowe and Jeremy Lowe; grandchildren, Kendall Lowe and Rylee Lowe; brothers, Edward Wells (Mary), Sam Wells (Jean); special family members Margaret Swann; “little sister,” Linda Sanford and a host of nieces, nephews and their spouses and friends. Pallbearers will be Saragossa Volunteer Fire Department Members. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Walker County Fire Departments from various Departments.
