Jeffrey W. Smith April 9, 1967-December 9, 2018 Middletown, NY Jeffrey W. Smith, devoted husband, father, brother and friend, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at home. He was 51. The beloved son of the late Victoria Jean Smith, he was born on April 9, 1967 in Goshen, NY. Jeffrey graduated from Chester High School in 1985 and was a lifetime area resident. He married Patricia Milby and they raised their two sons together in Middletown. Jeff became a Cub and Boy Scout leader… Read More » when his sons became interested in scouting, and stayed to this day, long after they left. He brought his old school values and attention to detail to all of his endeavors and was a meticulous craftsman. He was a NASCAR fan and Mets fan, enjoyed camping and baseball. Jeff was an incredibly genuine person who was always concerned for the welfare of everyone he came into contact with. He afforded all respect and latitude to be themselves. He loved to help and was a true and honest friend to many. His family and friends are devastated by his sudden loss, but their lives have been made richer by his presence and love. In addition to his loving wife Patricia and sons, James William and Jeffrey William at home, he is survived by his sister, Cyndi Hunter and her husband Keith of Walden and his best friend, who was like a brother to him, Billy Lang, as well as lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service in Remembrance will be held at 7:30 pm at the funeral home on Thursday evening. Cremation will be private.
