Obituary of Janice Wilkes Janice I. Wilkes, 80, Gas City, received her eternal reward at 10:53 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Grant County, she was born in Marion on August 22, 1938, to Robert and June (Evans) Sheetz. Janice married her loving husband, Buford, who survives. Janice retired from Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, where she was a QMA. She enjoyed playing Euchre and was a member of the Euchre Club for many years. She also enjoyed gardening. Janice loved her family, and spending time with them and caring for her husband was always a priority. She attended Roseburg Church of God. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Buford; son, Keith (Tracy) Wilkes, Cicero; siblings, Brenda Sheetz, Roseburg, Mary Alice Frazier, Marion, and Harry (Lora) Sheetz, Marion; granddaughter, Jessica Jacks; and great-grandchildren, Lukas Allen, Bennett Jacks, and Emma Lynn Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Laura Lee Wilkes; and her brothers, Paul Sheetz and David Sheetz. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. A funeral service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor William Fulda officiating.
