Obituary of James Woglom James R. Woglom, age 92, formerly of Reston, VA died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. James was born on May 17, 1926 in Glen Ridge, NJ to Russell and Viola (Herslow) Woglom. Jim received BA and BS Degrees from Lafayette College, an MA from Lehigh University, and an MBA from Northeastern University. He served in the Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946 and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He married Eleanor Crockett on June 7, 1952 in Summit, NJ. Jim retired from CH2M Hill in Reston, VA as a Vice President, and also worked for Camp Dresser McKee, Metcalf and Eddy, and Morris Knowles. He was a professional engineer and registered land surveyor and worked on many urban renewal and environmental projects across the United States, including REM/FIT and several other Federal Superfund projects. After retiring, he provided consulting services to many engineering firms across the US. As a passionate stamp collector and dealer, Jim donated stamps and time through Stamps for the Wounded and The Postal History Foundation. A lifelong sports fan, he loved the Washington Redskins and was an avid golfer. One of his greatest joys was watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Jim was dedicated to providing for his family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor; daughter, Maryellen (Pete) Austin of College Park, MD; sons, David (Marti) Woglom of Bethlehem, PA, Russell (Debby) Woglom of Corning, and George (Eleni) Woglom of Fairfax, VA; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Graveside services and Military Honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 32 Denison Parkway East, Corning, NY 14830. Jim’s family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
