JAMES “SONNY” MORANO, JR., 84, of Barnegat died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018. Born in Paterson, NJ, James resided in Little Falls before moving to Georgia in 1987. He returned to New Jersey in 2005, settling in Barnegat. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1963 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He worked for 31 years at Toppan USA, Inc. retiring as the President/CEO of Toppan Interamerica, Inc. in McDonough, GA. He was also a part-time tax assessor for the Township of Little Falls for 23 years. James was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War Era. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls, a member of the Naval Airship Association, Lakehurst, NJ and a member of the Men’s Club, Italian American Club and American Legion, all of Barnegat. He was very witty and enjoyed cracking jokes and talking politics. His hobbies were vacationing, fishing, crabbing, hunting and spending time with his family. Beloved husband of 61 years to the former Carole Henchy; cherished father to three sons, Robert Morano and his wife, Janice of Pequannock and Kenneth Morano and his wife, Susan and James L. Morano and his wife, Lydia, both of Little Falls; one daughter, Laurie Hughes and her husband, John of Wayne and was a doting grandfather to three grandsons, Kevin and Ryan Hughes and Eric Morano. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Loretta Morano; sister, Loretta Petkos and brother, Thomas Morano. He is survived by a large, loving family of numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Thursday at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls (Please meet at Church.) Private Cremation to follow. Visitation from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Fall.
