James E. Whitcomb, 56, of Morley, died on Monday, December 3, 2018 at his home. James was born January 22, 1962 in Ogdensburg, the son of Edward and Nancy (Whitman) Whitcomb. He graduated from Canton High School and served in the United States Navy. On March 26, 1986, James was united in marriage to Brenda VanHyning in Colton. James was employed by Pepsi-Cola of Ogdensburg, for which he has worked for the last 20 years. James enjoyed hunting, baseball, walking in the woods and hanging out at the cabin with the guys. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. James is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Whitcomb of Lisbon; a son, Michael Whitcomb; two daughters, Heather and husband Jackie Deshane Jr. and Stacy Whitcomb, all of Morley, his parents, Nancy and Edward Whitcomb and two grandchildren, Zackary and Lilly Dehsane. Also surviving are two brothers, Jared and Jay Whitcomb and three sisters, Jennifer, Joy and Julie Whitcomb. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Char’s Bar in Morley. Contributions in his memory may be made to the family at 162 Pollock Road; Canton, NY 13617 to assist with his final expenses.
