James C. Sweeting, Jr., 55, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. He was born in Williamsport on April 29, 1963 to James C. and Shirley (Banks) Sweeting, Sr. James was an outdoors man and loved to hunt and fish. Baseball was his favorite sport to play and football was his favorite sport to watch. The Pittsburgh Steelers were his favorite team to cheer on. He also enjoyed shooting pool with his friends. James is survived by his mother, Shirley Sweeting, two sons, James Sweeting, III, and Jeremy Sweeting, four daughters, Karissa, Sheena, Danica, and Collina, 11 grandchildren, three sisters, Shirley Kellem, Julia Smith, and Stacy Sweeting and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by two sons, Derek and Zane, and a sister, Master Sergeant Juanita Sweeting. A memorial service for James will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West Fourth Street, Williamsport with Pastor Spencer Sweeting officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maneval’s to help the family with funeral costs.
