Jacob E Landmesser Jr 1944 2018

Obituary of Jacob E. Landmesser, Jr. Jacob E. Landmesser, Jr., 74, of Horseheads, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018. He was born in Elmira, on July 14, 1944 the son of the late Jacob E. and Gertrude (Ellsworth) Landmesser, Sr. He graduated from Odessa-Montour High School and attended Corning Community College and the University of Maryland. He served with the US Air Force as a Cryptologic Language Analyst (Russian) from 1962 to 1965. Jacob worked for NASA, RCA, Toshiba and Corning Glass and volunteered as a hospital chaplain. He was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church in Horseheads. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Marylou (Miles) Landmesser of Horseheads; children, Shari (Mark) Weaver of Millbury, MA, Jacob E. Landmesser, III of Happy Camp, CA, and Caleb Landmesser (Jen) of Kane, PA; three grandchildren, Stephen, Victoria and Nitai; two sisters, Clara Wheaton of Montour Falls and Jean White of FL; two brothers, Hank Landmesser of SC, and Howard Landmesser of Elmira; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy, Emma and Emily. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 12-2 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm followed by burial in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Voice of the Martyrs.
