Ila’s Obituary Funeral services for Ila A. Crain, 49, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Messiah Episcopal Cemetery at Iron Nation, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 pm Friday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD. Ila Ann Crain was born August 4, 1969 to Marianna Liselotte Crain and Francis Edward Crain. She attended elementary school in Blunts, SD and high school in Onida, SD where she graduated in 1989. She went to Job Corps in Montana and specialized in Culinary Arts. On May 2, 1991, Ila had her first baby boy Levi Graham. In 1993, she moved to Lower Brule where she started at the Golden Buffalo Casino as a Black Jack Dealer but held many other positions. A few months later she met the love of her life Davis Grooms and to they were blessed with two amazing daughters Charmayne and Paige Grooms. She also worked at the Post Office and the Lower Brule Elementary School. Ila really loved to spend time cooking, baking, and joking around but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ila had a big heart and was always helping others as best she could. Ila passed away due to an untimely illness on December 21, 2018 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 49 years. Gratefully sharing her life are the love of her life Davis Grooms; her three children Levi Graham, Charmayne Grooms, and Paige Grooms of Lower Brule, SD; two step children Chris (Caressa) Grooms of Bismarck, ND and Daniel (Marilyn) Grooms of Lower Brule, SD; her mother Marianne Liselotte Crain of Pierre, SD; her grandchildren Adrianna, Declan, Kinsley, Royal, Tripp, and Remy; her siblings John (Elette) Crain of Blunt, SD, Harry (Karen) Crain of Watertown, SD, Raymond (Maxine) Crain of Tiogo, ND, Brian Crain of New Hope, MN, Nylda (James) Nelson of Pierre, SD; nieces Katanna, Christina, Desiree, and Kailyn; nephews Billy, Jonathan, Kieran, Dominic, Tristan, Trenton, Dakota, Tanner, and Kadyn; and numerous other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her father Francis Edward Crain; her grandparents Harry and Ila Craine and Wilhelm and Erna Schroder; her sister Josette Marie; sister-in-law Judy Crain; and her nephew Johnny Crain.
