OBITUARIO Hortensia Garza 22 septiembre , 1926 – 19 diciembre , 2018 Hortensia Garza, 92, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Brownsville. She was one of 12 children which she proudly proclaimed often. She received Christ at an early age and was a member of Faith Church. She married Ruben L. Garza and this union blessed them with five children. She worked many years in retail and at the age when most would begin making plans to retire, she instead became a first time business owner and opened a home daycare and she became known as “Grandma” to everyone. She was very proud of this career accomplishment. God was gracious and extended a hand of longevity to “Tencha”. She is preceded in death by her husband Ruben L. Garza, twin daughters Patricia and Elizabeth Garza, her parents Santana & Elisa Lopez, her siblings Maria Garcia, Santiago Lopez, Guadalupe Lopez, Anna Laredo, Santana Lopez, Raul Lopez, Carlota Rodriguez, Elisa Hinojosa, & Elvia Saenz. Left to cherish her memories are her siblings Catalina Farias (Isauro) & Margarita Senteno, her children Jose Ruben (Balbina) Garza, Sandra Marie (Raymond) Reney, Nora Nelda Garza (Glen Austin), Rene Hector Garza, & Hilda Yvonne Gonzalez, as well as her grandchildren Patricia Garza, Yvette Garza, Mark Reney, Tricia Clementi, Elise Austin, Joshua Ruben Austin, Jessica Anderson, Mark Austin, Allen Austin, Aileen Spillman, Kevin Gonzalez, and 14 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Ken Gonzalez, Kevin Gonzalez, Raymond Reney, Mark Reney, Nago Garcia, Tony Cavazos, Eddie Lopez, & Ramiro Garcia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 12:00pm to 10:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville. Funeral mass on Thursday December 27, 2018 at 10:30am at Faith Church, 1154 E. Los Ebanos Blvd., Brownsville, followed by a committal service to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S.
