Helle S Di Rienzo 1936 2018

Obituary of Helle Di Rienzo Helle Simone Di Rienzo, 82, passed away on December 25th. She was born and raised in Denmark where as a child she found her love for ballet, and practiced it until her early adult years. She also spent time as model in her 20’s when she had her heart stolen in Denmark by an American Soldier, Mario Di Rienzo. Mario swept her away from Denmark and they were married in 1957. Helle continued her love for dance here in the US by becoming a local dance teacher, where she taught ballet and all other forms of dance. She also enjoyed her time as a homemaker by knitting and sewing things for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Mario; her children: daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Steven Nickles of Wyckoff, NJ, son and daughter-in-law, Mario E. and Mary Di Rienzo of Columbia, NJ, and son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Alexis Di Rienzo of Harding, NJ. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Dean and his wife Monica, Alex, Kali, Greg, Marisa, Nicole, Lauren, Olivia, and Grace. She will also be missed dearly by her brother Kaare Laursen of Aarhus, Denmark, along with her many nieces and nephews in Denmark. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 28th, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29th, 2018 at 10am at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helle’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 986 South Springfield Ave, Springfield, NJ 07081.
