Obituary of Hazel Rakich RAKICH, Hazel A. Age 86 of Horseheads, NY. She was born March 5, 1932 in Kingston, PA, daughter of the late James and Anna (Betcher) Swainbank and passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 unexpectedly. She was predeceased by her husband Mylan “Rocky” Rakich in 2000; sons-in-law Steven Zolkosky and Thomas Grandi; grandson Joshua Rakich and great granddaughter Parker Green. Hazel is survived by her children and their spouses Mylan Rakich Jr. of Branford, CT, Elizabeth & Ralph Foster of Horseheads, Ann Grandi of Corning, Steven & Kim Rakich of Elmira, Frank & Karen Rakich of FL, Brenda Zolkosky of Horseheads, Deborah Rakich of Horseheads and Robert & Audrey Rakich of Elmira; grandchildren Mylan (Ariane) Rakich III of Portland, OR, Kyle Herrick of GA, Jonathan (Christian Jones) Zolkosky of Syracuse, NY, Anita (David) Kropf of PA, Dorothy (Thomas) Little of Horseheads, Tiffany (Dean) Cooke of FL, Natasha Rakich of FL, Brock (Rachel) Rakich of FL, Heather Rakich of Elmira, Amanda Rakich of Elmira Heights, Phillip Rakich of Murfreesboro, TN, Robert Rakich II of Elmira, Shanya Rakich of Elmira and William Green of Elmira Heights; great grandchildren Laken Green, Robert Rakich III, Mylan Rakich IV, Jefferson, Angeline and Landyn Rakich, Olivia Grace Herrick, Shanea Rakich, Cavani Cooke, Skyler and Leo Bangert, Rose and Lucas Rakich, Olivia and Anneliese Little, Rebekah and Stephen Kropf. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, January 2nd from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Rev. David Kropf will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
