Obituary for Gwendolyn R. Smith Gwendolyn R. Smith, 90, passed away on Saturday November 11th at her residence on State Route 346. She was the wife of the late Arthur Smith Jr. Gwen was born on September 9, 1928, in Hoosick Falls, NY, daughter of the late Duncan and Lucy (Kyer) McMartin. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School and worked as “Nana” at the Kiddie Car Daycare from 1991-2014. Gwen enjoyed bowling, making hook rugs, traveling to Maine and was a longtime member of Lend-A-Hand. She was also a member of the North Petersburgh Methodist Church. Survivors include her sons David Smith of Wellfleet, MA, Daniel Smith (Gail), Dennis Smith (Pam) all of Petersburgh, NY, Richard Smith of Stafford, VA, also eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday November 17th at 12 (noon) from the North Petersburgh Methodist Church on Route 346. Burial will follow the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions maybe made to the North Petersburgh Methodist Church through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, who are handling the arrangements.
