Guy Luse Harris 1931 2018

Obituary of Guy Harris Guy Luse Harris, Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home. He was born on February 4, 1931 in Yakima, Washington to Anne Heard Harris and Guy L. Harris, Sr. He attended school in the Yakima area. He joined the United States Air Force in 1948 where he was a Transportation Specialist and served at Travis Air Force Base, Guam, and Great Falls, Montana. He was discharged in 1952 and returned to Yakima Washington where he met and married Mary Anne Lathim on June 10, 1953. They raised three children. From Yakima, Washington they moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked at McCord AFB and Northwest Airlines. He worked for various airlines throughout his career, such as; West Coast Airlines, Western Airlines, and Northwest Airlines, where he held many positions, from working the ramp to ticket agent management. While working for Western Airlines, he moved the family to Homer, Alaska. He worked in the airline industry and was fortunate to live in several different towns and villages in Alaska, including “The Bush”. Upon retiring from the airlines, he moved to Coeur d’alene, Idaho where he was head janitor for Byron Elementary School. Upon losing his first wife to breast cancer, Guy moved to Lake Havasu City in December, 1994. He became an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, BPOE and the Knights of Columbus. He held many offices in the K of C in both the Council and the Fourth Degree Assembly, as well as the State of Arizona. Guy is preceded in death by his first wife; Mary Anne Lathim Harris, father; Guy L. Harris, Sr., mother; Anne Heard Harris, sisters; Shirley Jean Harris Huether , grandson; Shannon Douglas Wheeler, and great-grandson; William Wheeler. He is survived by his wife; Liela Harris of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, son; Patrick Michael Harris and daughter; Kathleen Diane Bowlin, both of Smelterville, Idaho, son; Richard Charles Harris of Buckeye, Arizona, step son; Josef (Joe) Pegorin of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, grandchildren; Robert William Wheeler and Jennifer Diane Wheeler of Smelterville, Idaho, Keith Michael Harris of Kearns, Utah, Wesley Charles Harris and Brandon Dean Harris of Buckeye, Arizona, Brittany Harris of Laveen, Arizona, great-grandchildren; McKenzie Basham, Katelyn, Jacob, and Jaxon Croston, Shae Wheeler, Madysen Wheeler and Shelby Wheeler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Guy will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church with Military Honors at 10:45 am, Rosary at 11:00 am and Mass at 11:30 am. Donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405 or to Our Lady of the Lake School at 1975 Daytona St. Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403. Guy’s remains will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
