OBITUARY Glenna L. Dalton March 5, 1930 – December 27, 2018 Glenna L. (Fireoved) Dalton, age 88, of Wichita, Kansas passed away in her home at The Oxford Grand Senior Living, in Wichita, Kansas on December 27, 2018. Services will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park Kansas. Burial in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas. Glenna was born on March 5, 1930 on the family farm in Smith County, Kansas to Russell Fireoved and Gertrude (Wood) Fireoved. Her early education was in a one-room schoolhouse before attending and graduation from Smith Center High School. Glenna lived and worked in Kansas City before taking a job with the City of Russell, Kansas where she met and later married Paul W. Dalton on August 20, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Russell, Kansas. Glenna moved to Kitzingen Germany, where her husband was stationed in the Military, before returning to Kansas. Glenna was a long time resident of Overland Park Kansas, working for the Shawnee Mission School District and Sprint Telecommunications. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church for many years. In retirement, she loved getting together with friend and coworkers as well as caring for her beloved Shih tzu dogs. Glenna most recently resided in Wichita, Kansas. Glenna was proceeded in death by her parents, Russell and Gertrude; and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her son, Greg (Julie); grandchildren, Matthew (Autumn), Christopher and Kathleen; and great grandchildren, Alice, Audrey, and Kiersten. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
