Gino Balzarini, 80 of Oglesby died at 9:32 a.m. December 9, 2018 in his home. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. The Very Rev. Gary Blake will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, LaSalle. Full military honors will be conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday in the church. He worked as an electrician for Libby Owens. Gino was a member of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed target and trap shooting. He was an avid gardener. He loved bingo, going to the boat and his Saturday coffee sessions. Gino served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his longtime companion Virginia Hammers as well as friends Karen Hunter of Oglesby and Harold Konieczki of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents.
