Gene Brown Norwood, GA – Mr. James “Gene” Eugene Brown, 57, entered into rest December 21, 2018. Gene grew up in McDuffie County, GA and graduated from Thomson High School in 1980 and attended Abraham Baldwin College. He moved to Norwood in 1995 and was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. He was retired from Colonial Bread with 25 years of service and worked as the farm manager for Foxboro Farms. Gene was a longtime member of the Belle Meade Hunt and had earned his colors. He also enjoyed fishing and metal detecting. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Johnnie Dean Brown of Norwood, GA; son, Andrew Dean Brown (Brittany); daughter, Angela Denise Christine Brown; mother, Martha Ann Fitzgerald Brown of Appling, GA; brothers, Joel Brown of Appling, GA, Jeffery Brown (Scarlett) of Dearing, GA; and grandchildren, Brayden Anthony Lowe, Kalib Ayden Brown, Caleph Jowell Davis, Issac Jace Brown, Bryson James Brown, Eli Dean Brown, and Chole Elizabeth Brown. He was predeceased by his father, Joe J. Brown and sister, Christine Brown Harrison. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Adkins, Rev. Bryant Neal and Epp Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is honored to serve the family of Gene Brown.
