Evelyn ‘Gertie’ Gertrude Hall 2018

Evelyn Gertrude ‘Gertie’ Hall, 92, of Shelbyville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 while surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 12, 1926 in Ripley County to Porter Lee Ford and Edith (Conner) Ford. She married Everett Leroy Hall on June 13, 1942, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1983. Gertie is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jean Gahimer of Manilla and Patricia (Nick) Schaf of Marietta; grandson, Kevin M. Hall (Traci Walden); grandson, Shey A. Gahimer (Lori); great-granddaughter, Lillian; grandson, Yancy L. Schaf (Stacy Bonebrake); grandchildren, Izabella, Emma, and Vance; all of Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Joanna Lea Hall, husband, brother, James Ford, sister, Nora Bellows and son-in-law, Tony Gahimer. Gertie was a member of Vine Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Star Class. She was a past president of the Missionary Society at the church. She was a Grandmother to many in the community. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Harvey Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
