Obituary for Edward Craig Spencer Blacksburg – Edward Craig Spencer, 78, of Count Gravel Road passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Atrium Health Cleveland. He was the husband of Lois Catherine Carroll Spencer, his wife of 61 years, and the son of the late Theodore McCall Spencer and Dicey Anna Mae Patterson Spencer. He was a veteran of 21 years service in the US Army and was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg. In addition to his wife, Mr. Spencer is survived by three sons, Tony Craig Spencer, (Angie) Edward Wayne Spencer (Celeste), and Keith Wylie Spencer; two daughters, Theresa Mae Spencer and Angie Whitaker (Jeff); ten grandchildren, April Orr (Colby), Kertus Davis, Joshua Craig May (Audrey), Elizabeth Powell, Jeremy Whitaker (Amber), Edward Wayne Spencer II (Anne), Jason Cole Spencer (Heather), Rachel Powell, Levi Powell (Tonya), Bryan Keith Spencer (Andrea), Andrea Spencer; 19 great-grandchildren, Kylee and Presley Orr, Brittany Ulrich (Sean), Cooper Davis, Joseph and Andrew Whitaker, Declan Powell, Phillip Spencer, Paisley and Jace Spencer, Novie and Silas Spencer, Jaxon and Spencer Powell, Jayden, Bane Lecroy, Toby Powell, Scarlet, Mercy, Josiah, and Titus Spencer; two great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Seraphina Ulrich. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Theodore, Jr., Sam, George, and Glenn Spencer and four sisters, Mamie Lee Payne, Francis Letilier, and Jatanner Stebbings, and Virgie Parker, and one grandson, Kyle Davis. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. The family is at the residence.
