Dorothy Papa (DiOrio), of East Boston passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 18th at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Papa. Devoted mother of Diana Deeran, Linda Scalfani and her late husband Buster, Vincent Papa Jr. and his wife Hildy, John Papa and his wife Joan, and Dorothy DiMille and her husband John. Dear sister of Ruth Vosolo, William DiOrio and the late Rose Marie DiSisto, Angelo DiOrio, Anthony “Bunny” DiOrio, Joseph DiOrio and Mary Tirone. Also survived by her 12 grandchildren, many loving and adored great and great-great grandchildren and cherished nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor Dorothy’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home 971 Saratoga St., East Boston on Wednesday December 26th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and again on Thursday morning at 8:30AM before leaving in procession to St. Joseph – St. Lazarus Church 59 Ashley St., East Boston for a 10:00AM funeral mass in celebration of Dorothy’s life. Services will conclude with Dorothy being laid to rest beside her beloved Vincent at Holy Cross Cemetery.
