Dorothy Ann Szeli, known to family and friends as ‘Doe’, entered into rest on Monday, December 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 83. Doe felt blessed in her later years and through her illness to be able to stay at her home, in the Town of Newburgh and be cared for by her loving son Stephan. The daughter of George and Mary Kelemen, she was born on December 11, 1934 in Roseton, NY. Dorothy worked at Kay Handbag Co. in Newburgh, before becoming a full time home maker.… Read More » Doe was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Roseton, NY, where she sang in the choir for 60 years. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed spending time with family, enjoyed watching the game show channel, and watching every Yankee game through the entire season. She was pre-deceased by her husband Fred ‘Geza’ Szeli Sr. Survivors include her son Fred Szeli Jr. and his wife Linda of Blue Point, NY, son Stephan Szeli of the Town of Newburgh, grandchildren, Annaliese and Hunter of Blue Point, sisters, Priscilla Shovan of Cornwall, Margie Evangelisto of Marlboro, Betty Gregorec of Roseton. She was Pre-Deceased by sisters, Mary Kartis, Ann Monti and brother George Kelemen. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. 318 N. Montgomery St. Newburgh. NY 12550. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Roseton, NY. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
