Mr. Donnie Helms, age 59, of Indian Land, SC, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, at Carolinas Medical Center-Waxhaw. A gathering to Celebrate Donnie’s life will be held between 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 23rd, 2018, at the Helms Residence, 7648 Henry Harris Road, Indian Land, SC, 29707. A special memorial tribute will take place at 3:00, following the gathering. Donnie was born January 13, 1959, in Union County, NC, a son of Janice Baker Helms and the late Bobby Franklin Helms. Throughout his life, Donnie was passionate about his work as an artist and painter. He also enjoyed sharing his work with his loved ones, as well as creating artistic expressions of love for them. Lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, his family not only remembers his ability to put a smile on their faces, but warmth in their hearts with his kind and giving nature. Donnie is survived by his soulmate, best friend, and wife of 37 years, Annette Morris Helms. Survivors also include a daughter, Heather Helms, his mother, Janice Baker Helms, and stepfather Dewey Helms, a sister, Loree Hannah, a brother, Craig Helms, mother-in-law, Margaret Morris, father-in-law, Lathan Morris, sister-in-law Amy Kelly and husband Chad, sister-in-law Kelly Martin and husband Darrell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
