Donald Ray Donnie Moore July 17 1926 – December 13 2018

Obituary for Donald Ray “Donnie” Moore Donnie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on December 13, 2018. Born 7/17/1926, in Barnsdahl, OK, he moved to Tucson as an infant. He attended Tucson High School where he played on the 1946 State Championship team and later played professional baseball for the Tucson Cowboys. Donnie was a WWII veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a retired letter carrier and later a retired Superior Court Clerk. His greatest joy was as a 3-sport Hall of Fame official. He officiated thousands of football, basketball and his beloved baseball games in many states throughout the country. He officiated into his early 80’s and remained part of the officiating community until his passing. As a youngster growing up in Tucson, he was a City of Tucson yo-yo champion, a marbles champion and worked as an usher at the Fox Theater. Preceeded in death by sister, Audrey Bower (Moore), brother Corky Moore, and son, Duane R. Moore. Survived by his wife, Rita, of 38 years, daughtersDonna J. Moore, Donna L. Stewart, and son Michael Stewart. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, JR Rodowca (Roxanne) Jerrod Rodowca, Emily, Alex and Zach Hareper, Sean, Kyle (Amanda), Anthony (Ciara) Stewart, 5 great grandchildren, Jenniphe, Jade, Connor, Taylor and Mason and ex-wife Shirley Moore.
