Denis M. Crepeau, 70, of Harrisville, died peacefully in his home on Monday, December 24, 2018. He was the husband of Jeanne C. (Deguire) Crepeau. Denis was born on June 1, 1948 in Woonsocket, RI, the son of the late Maurice and Leona (Gauvin) Crepeau. Denis was a graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy, where he was a hockey player. He continued his love for hockey by coaching for the North Stars and playing in men’s leagues. Denis worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 2002, a journey which took him to New York for several years. Aside from his family, Denis’s true love was the outdoors. He was the ultimate outdoorsman, splitting his time between fishing Narragansett Bay and the waters off southern RI, and hunting for deer and turkey. Besides his wife, he leaves their daughter, Allison E. Crepeau MD and her husband, Andrew Best, of Norfolk, VA, and two sisters, Jacqueline Crudale and her husband Robert of Cranston, and Elizabeth Dench and her husband Paul of Cumberland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Parish (the former Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church), 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Calling hours are Sunday from 5-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
