Daphne Martin September 29, 1952 – December 24, 2018 Daphne Martin, 66 of Dugspur, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Martin was born in Virginia to the late Horace Cabel and Virginia Catherine Sutphin Strickland. Survivors include her husband, James E. Martin; children, Jill Barrett and husband, Tony, Lisa Hall and husband, Harold, and James Martin and fiancee, Priscilla Otey; sisters, Virginia Jones, Patricia Gunnell and husband, Larry, and Robin Culler and husband, David; brother, Jimmy Strickland and wife, Denise; grandchildren, Jacob Hall and wife Ashley, Isaac Hall and fiancee, Emily Burleson, Tyler Barrett, Jared Hall, and Lillie Barrett; great-grandchildren, Aiden Hall and Heath Hall; and several nieces and nephews. Born: September 29, 1952 Death: December 24, 2018 A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Larry Heiney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted; however, the family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
