Cynthia L. McMahon, 79, of Port Crane, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family on December 12, 2018. Cynthia was born November 12, 1939 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Mark and Melba Holzkamp Hyde. She lived in the Port Crane area since 1965. She worked at several restaurants as a waitress, hostess, and bartender. She retired as a security guard at Securitas in Binghamton. Surviving are her four children, William (Shani) McMahon of Afton; Mark (Ashley) McMahon of Roseville, CA; Shane (Laura) McMahon of Seneca, SC; and Heidi (Mark) Ward of Oviedo, FL; granddaughters, Heather, Hannah, Cassidy, Carter, Darby, and Elizabeth; grandsons, Chris, Trevor, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Noah and Emma; a brother, Chauncey Hyde of Phoenix, AZ and a sister, Andrea Rogers of Saratoga Springs. Cynthia was predeceased by her husband, William McMahon in 1986. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in Mrs. McMahon’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
