Obituary of Christine Walker AIKEN, SC—Funeral Services for Mrs. Christine B. Walker, age 67, who entered into rest Saturday, December 29, 2018, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Couchton Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Broach and Mayhew West. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Richard Burkhart, Hunter Danko, Dan Walker, Jason Walker, Bob Young, and Paul Young. The family will receive friends at the church Monday beginning at 1:00 PM until the hour of service. Mrs. Walker was a native of Vidalia, GA, but was a resident of Aiken County, SC for most of her life. She was a member of Couchton Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her devotional Bible and was a prayer warrior. She also enjoyed traveling to the mountains, reading a good book, and watching movies. She loved the time spent with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, James S. Walker Sr.; four children, Tanya Herron, Sarah Kneece (Chris), Kim Jones (Jackie), and Jim Walker (Amy); five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers, a sister; one step-sister; and she also left behind her special “girlfriends” and one special “buddy.” She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Barfield and Grace J. Wright and a brother, Kenneth A. Barfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Couchton Baptist Church, 3171 Wagener Rd, Aiken, SC 29801.
