Bob Myers, 89, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, with family by his side. Born January 15, 1929, in Fort Wayne, IN, Bob was the son of the late Labanah & Edith (DeHart) Myers. His nickname of “Grocer Bob” came from many years in the food industry and ownership of a wholesale warehouse, Mid-America Grocers. His life was guided by his faith and love for God and his Son, Jesus Christ. Bob married Jean Ooley on Aug. 21, 1952 in Greene County, IN, enjoying 65 years together. Jean preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 2017. Bob was also preceded in death by sister, Jean Freund, and brother, John Myers. Bob is survived by his three children: Stephen (Lornagail) Myers of Frankenmuth, MI, Marlene (Tom) Bassett of Fort Wayne, and Mark (Jeanette) Myers of Sharpsburg, GA; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Gillis, Janell Myers, Katryne Myers, Matthew (Stephanie) Davis, David (Alyssa) Myers, Carson Myers, and Alecia Myers; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service is at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, held at Classic Café Event Center, 4832 Hillegas Road, Fort Wayne, IN, 46818. (Arranged by Feller & Clark Funeral Home, Auburn, IN.) Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 West Main St., Fort Wayne.
