OBITUARY Mr. Billy Glenn Tubbs March 29, 1931 – December 23, 2018 Billy Glenn “Bill” Tubbs, 87, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his residence. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service at 2 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Bennett Cemetery. Bill was born in Fall City, AL in 1931, he lost his dad in 1944, at 13 years of age in St. Clair County and he was the fifth son of seven children. He was married at the age 19 to Sue Clark. After four children were born they moved to California. While there, he had two years of college, then they moved back to Jasper and added two more children, making their family complete with six children. Bill was self-employed as a sales engineer and consultant for Southeast area until retired. They moved to Smith Lake in 1963. After retirement, Bill and his friend George Miller worked together cleaning and taking care of abandoned cemeteries. His hobby, with his wife at his side, was genealogy and Ancestral Homestead Books for Walker County and all of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his son, Clark Alexander Tubbs; parents, James Samuel Tubbs and Minnie Lee Alexander Tubbs Bandeen; brothers, Edsel Tubbs, Harold Tubbs, Charles Tubbs, Jack Tubbs; grandparents, Jabe Aus Tubbs and Alice Adeline Wilson Tubbs, and Annie Stivener Tubbs, Charles Alexander and Paralee McCollum Alexander; in-laws, Edgar Andrew Clark and Velma Izene Meadows Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Clark Tubbs; children, Ronald Howard Tubbs, Deborah Sue Tubbs England, Glenn Alan Tubbs, James Samuel Tubbs, DeAnna Lee Tubbs Zacarias; grandchildren, Rod England, Suzan England, Steven Tubbs, Jessica Tubbs, Michelle Tubbs, Elizabeth Tubbs, John Tubbs, Daniel Tubbs, Kelly Tubbs Burton, Brad Tubbs, Elena Zacarias; great grandchildren, Lorenzo England, Ally Tubbs, Wheeler Burton, Lincoln Burton; siblings, Wayne Tubbs, Sharon Tubbs Ivan Snedden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
