Billie Doris King of Straight Bayou, Mississippi, died on Christmas Eve, 2018 around 8:45 PM at the Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital. She was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi on February 19th, 1933, to J.W. and Ethel Myers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, David Lee King, of Straight Bayou; her parents, J.W. and Ethel Myers of Anguilla, Mississippi; three brothers Jimmy Myers of Vidalia, Louisiana, Jack Myers of Natchez, Mississippi, Charles Myers… Read More » of Brookhaven, Mississippi and three sisters; Effie Ellis of Ferriday, Louisiana, Mary Frost Fairbanks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Annie Nell King of Straight Bayou, Mississippi. She leaves behind two children; a son, Michael Myers King and his wife Dessie of Raleigh. Mississippi and a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Jones and her husband Roger of Straight Bayou, Mississippi. Three beautiful granddaughters; Lacie Elizabeth King (Jason) McAbee, Cassie Sharee King Bellipanni. and Kristina Alesha Jones (Paul) Rice. Eight precious great-grandchildren; Baylie Rice, Towery Bellipanni, Olivia McAbee, Brynlie Rice, Jacob McAbee, Deacon Rice, and Everett Rice. She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. King was and active member of the Straight Bayou Baptist Church for many years. She also worked at the Bank of Anguilla for a number of years. She was loved by many and will be terribly missed by the ones she leaves behind. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 26th, 2018 at the Straight Bayou Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 1 PM followed by the service at 2 PM. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni has been entrusted with the arrangements.
