Verla Marie Jones of Joppa died Wednesday, November 14 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson. She was 78. Born in Roanoke, VA she was the daughter of the late Howell and Frieda Alley and wife of the late William Jones. A homemaker, Mrs. Jones was a scratch off queen who loved watching her soap operas. She is survived by her children; Michael E. Jones of Abingdon, David W. Jones of Joppa and Ginger L. Snyder of Joppa; her sister, Connie and five grandchildren.
