Peter A. Stelianou, 94, of Lyndonville, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the New York State Veterans Home at Batavia. Born on January 13, 1924 in Lyndonville, NY, he was the son of the late Ary and Konstantina (Fotiou) Stelianou. Peter graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1942. After graduating, Peter worked as a Riveter at Curtis-Wright of Buffalo, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and served in the China-Burma India Theatre. Upon returning home, Peter worked various jobs, including his employment at the Lyndonville Water Works and running the family store, which he ran until his retirement. Peter was a member of the Buffalo Greek Orthodox Church and a charter member of the Lyndonville American Legion, a member of the Johnson Creek Seniors and a life member of the Yates-Carlton Sportsman Club. Peter enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing, but especially enjoyed the time at the lake with his nieces and nephews while boating. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 11AM-12PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098 where a funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded by the Lyndonville and Medina American Legion and the Medina Veterans of Foreign Wars. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peter’s name to the Orleans County Joint Veterans Council, 13996 Rt. 31 Albion, NY 14411.
