Obituary for Nabiha Aawar (Aawar) A light from our family is gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in the home, which can never be filled. We have to mourn the loss of one we would’ve loved to keep, but God, who surely loved her best, has finally made her sleep. After a lifetime of of her love and joy and music to fill our ears, God leaves these wondrous memories to help us through all the tears. Nabiha Awar passed peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Nabiha was a loving, caring and enthusiastic matriarch. She knew love and how to love till the very last moments in life. Born in Lebanon and immigrated to America, Nabiha sought a better life for her and her family. Nabiha showed us all what a perfect example is of someone who is passionate and faithful. Always referring to Gods mercy on us and always reminding us to thank God for what he has given us. In good health and in bad Nabiha cared for those around her more than she did herself. Nabiha’s memory will be a happy one. One that we can all remember and smile about. Whether it’s watching her feed the birds on a warm summer day or sitting with her and reminiscing about life, she always had a gift of making small experiences memorable ones. Nabiha was a mother, wife and a grandmother too and left a legacy for all of us. Nabiha taught us love and how to fight, gave us strength and might. A stronger person would be hard to find and her heart was always kind. Nabiha is survived by her son, Nadim, her three daughters Afaf, Nina, and Rima as well as her numerous grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 10am at Chas. Verheyden, Inc. 7100 Michigan Ave. Detroit, Michigan.
