MARY LOUISE YENNEY Mary Louise Yenney, 93, of Piqua, passed away at 6:58 a.m. Saturday November 24, 2018 at Brookdale of Piqua. She was born June 22, 1925 in Ft. Loramie to the late Louis J. and Anna (Schmidt) Steinke. She married Donald A. Yenney, the love of her life, on April 18, 1945 in Piqua. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1999. Survivors include a son, Thomas A. (Karla) Yenney of Troy; two daughters, Barbara A. (Roman) Plichta of Lisle, Illinois; Mary Lou (Mark) Fierce of Piqua; five grandchildren, Michael (Jackie) Plichta, Julie (Michael) Lorentz, David (Kylie) Yenney, Erin Yenney, J.T. Yenney; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Yenney was a graduate of Piqua Catholic High School and worked for many years in the City of Piqua Income Tax Department. In 1980, Mary and Don retired to Indian Lake and enjoyed many years of fishing, playing bridge and family time. Her competitive nature sparked her to be an excellent bridge player. Mary was a devout member of St. Mary Catholic Church and her unwavering faith was not only a strength to her but an inspiration to her family. She will be remembered for her compassion, positive attitude, and outgoing personality. The family wants to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care Mary received from the Brookdale of Piqua staff the past five and a half years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel P. Hunt as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
