Obituary for Mary Jane Volesky Mary Jane Volesky, age 88 of Staples, passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 12, 2018. She was born December 2, 1929 to William and Catherine Lorentz in Staples, Minnesota. Mary Jane attended school in Staples and graduated in 1947. After working a variety of jobs, Mary Jane purchased from her father, Bill, the Farmer’s Oil Station and took over in 1960. That same year she married Francis Volesky and began her family, which included four sons. In her later years she was involved with many community organizations and charities, although family was always a primary focus. Mary Jane also found time for her favorite pastimes: ceramics, cross-stitch, and was never quite able to fully “retire” from quilting. Mary Jane will be deeply missed by her sons: Steven Volesky of Roseville, William (Amber) Volesky of Midland, MI, Jerome (Carol) Volesky of Battle Creek, MI, Bernie (Susanne) Volesky of Bethel; grandchildren: Kevin, Paul, Mary, and John. great grandchildren. Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; and sister, Loretta Lorentz; and brother, Bob Lorentz. A Rosary for Mary Jane will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 followed by a gathering of family and friends from 10:00-11:00 am with a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Staples.
