Louis Edward Sperry, Sr. Age 87, left this world peacefully on November 26, 2018. Louie, as he was known to his friends, was born April 30, 1931 in St. Johns, MI, the son of Howard and Viola (Kowalk) Sperry.Louie married the love of his life, Helen Sylvester, and together they had five children; Randi (Eugene) Judge,Rebecca (Robert) Southerling, Christina Pakkala, Candice (Thomas) Knechtges, and Louis (Dawn) Sperry, Jr.In addition to his children, Louie is survived by 10 grandchildrenand… Read More » 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents,his wife, Helen, and one great-grandchild. Louie worked for Sears for 44 years. Not one to sit, he later worked for Meijer, retiring twice. Louie deeply loved his family and enjoyed woodworking, keeping his lawn and home immaculate, and traveling. The family wishes to express their deep and lasting gratitude to Joel, Sherry, and the staff at The Haven in Charlotte for their loving care, compassion, and the dignity they gave to Louie. We also wish to extend our gratitude to the staff at Great Lakes Hospice, including, but not limited to his nurses, Taryn and Melissa, Dr. Paxton, Scott, and Amanda. Per Louie’s wishes no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice in memory of Louie.
