Obituary for Leon “Jack” Leon Alderson Leon “Jack” Alderson, age 90, of Monterey, Tennessee formally Mattoon passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary (Parrott); his caring children: Jackie (Vernon) Deters; and Robert Alderson; grand-children: Julie Deters and Shane (Donna) Deters; great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren: Zachary (Marissa) Burton, August Lauter, Gabriel Deters, Ronnie Webb, and LeAndra Webb; and one great-great- grandchild: Corbin Slaymaker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Loren Alderson and Nellie (Mulvaney) Gordon; his brothers: Glen Alderson and Virgil Alderson and sisters: Mardell Groff and Erma Gaston. Jack served in the Air Force from 1946 thru 1949. He worked for USS Oil Well Supply 15 years and Fire Extinguisher Sales and Services for 24 years. He moved to Tennessee to enjoy retirement in a warmer climate. An avid bird watcher, he enjoyed many hours watching them outside his window. He never knew a stranger and continued to enjoy meeting people. He will be greatly missed. Per his wishes there will be no services or memorials.
